It is worth noting that having an ID tag for your dog is a mandatory, though often overlooked, requirement in the UK. The requirement does not apply at home and to working dogs but if your dog is a personal pet and in a public place they should wear an ID tag with the owner’s name and address on it. To keep it short the tag could state the name, the house number, the post code and a mobile number. The mobile number is not required by law but is certainly recommended for ease of contact.
